Housing Support
About Housing Support
CHAI’s Housing Support Service provides support to vulnerable people. CHAI Housing Support staff achieve this by working with service users to develop personalised Support Plans, meeting their individual needs and creatively adapting what we deliver to best fit their individual aims and aspirations.
We currently contract with Melville Housing Association, based in Midlothian, to help ensure their tenants are able to sustain their tenancies. We provide support to claim benefits and grants, furnish the home, help with debts and budgeting, register with a GP and dentist, make and keep appointments, deal with officials and professionals and assist with correspondence and phone calls. We use a client-centred approach and are committed to a multi-disciplinary approach to providing support.
At present, our housing support service is only available to tenants of Melville Housing Association.

Service User Engagement
We collect regular feedback from our service users to ensure we are meeting those needs and are committed to continuing to develop opportunities for service user engagement in the planning and delivery of the Service.
Our Standards
CHAI’s Housing Support Service is a Registered Care Service, and is subject to regulation by the Care Inspectorate. The Service was graded as ‘Good’ at the last Care Inspection.
